Who we are
Silver Leaf Events provides event planning and coordination services in South Africa. For purposes of applicable data-protection law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), Silver Leaf Events is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, event type, proposed event date, location, guest count, budget information and any other details you include in an enquiry or provide while working with us. Booked clients may also provide information through the Silver Leaf Events Planner, including messages, event details, approvals and documents.
We may receive limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as an IP address, browser type, device information and access or error logs.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and discuss your event requirements;
- prepare proposals, quotations and service agreements;
- plan, coordinate and deliver booked event services;
- provide and support authorised client-portal access;
- maintain business, financial and legal records; and
- operate, protect and improve our website and services.
We process information where you have consented, where it is needed to take steps at your request or perform an agreement, where the law requires it, or where we have a legitimate business need that does not unfairly affect your rights.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We may share relevant information with venues, suppliers and service providers when reasonably necessary to respond to you, operate the website or deliver your event. These may include website hosting, client-portal, email, form-delivery, security and storage providers. We only share information appropriate to the service being provided.
Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements that offer appropriate protection for personal information.
Client portal
The Silver Leaf Events Planner is available only to authorised users. Portal information is used to manage the relevant event and provide booked services. Clients should keep their login details confidential and notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorised access.
Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential technical cookies or similar technologies needed for security and core functionality. If non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to maintain appropriate business records, or to meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or request deletion where there is no lawful reason for us to retain the information.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Information about other people
If you provide personal information about another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that they have been informed of the relevant use of their information.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, website or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
